About the book:19302.jpg

Title: Pippi Longstocking

Author: Astrid Lindgren

Genre & Age Group: This is a classic that is directed towards kids, but I think anyone can read it as it is very well known and the characters do not really face any deep problems!

Goodreads Synopsis:

The beloved story of a spunky young girl and her hilarious escapades.

“A rollicking story.”โ€”The Horn Book

Tommy and his sister Annika have a new neighbor, and her name is Pippi Longstocking. She has crazy red pigtails, no parents to tell her what to do, a horse that lives on her porch, and a flair for the outrageous that seems to lead to one adventure after another!

How I Found Out About It: My mom really enjoyed this book when she was young, so she recommended it to me for a nice, light read!

Review: This book was so cute! I loved Pippi, as she was so quirky, adventurous, and fun! She has such a fun spirit and personality, and is able to find the positive in everything and everyone, which is a great trait to have. The characters and the events were described so well, and I felt like I was with them in the story, experiencing everything! Though some of the events in the book were unrealistic, it always called for a good laugh! I did enjoy this book, but it’s not what I would usually read, because when I read it, I was looking for something a little lighter. There were some slower parts that were “meh” to me, but I am a teen, so those parts probably would be funnier and more relatable for younger tweens. I don’t know if I would recommend this to teens as they may be looking for books about more serious topics, but if you are a kid (at heart) and looking for a fun book to enlighten your spirit, I would say give this one a go!

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars!

Today’s prompt is a book that reminds me of home. My apologies, but no books came to mind for this topic, so I will have to skip this one for today. Sorry!
