This or That Book Tag!

Hi everyone!

I wasn’t tagged for this, but I’ve seen it around on blogs like Anushka @ Living In Pages, so I wanted to try it for myself! *Please note that pictures and gifs are not mine.*

So here goes!

1. Reading on the couch or in bed?

Reading in bed 100%, especially if I’m super tired and about to go to sleep! I also absolutely love the privacy of my bedroom! When I’m reading on a couch in, say, my living room, my family members might be watching TV or talking on the phone, which would distract me from my reading.

2. Male main character or female mainย character?ย

I usually find it easier to read books starring females. Since I am one myself, I find it much easier to relate to whatever situation they’re in, although, I absolutely don’t mind a good book featuring a male protagonist once in a while.

3. Sweet or salty snacks while reading?

I don’t usually eat while reading, to be honest, but when I do, it’s usually either pretzels or popcorn, so yeah, salty.

4. Trilogies or quartets?

It doesn’t really matter to me, as I’ll devote as long as it’s a good series!

5. First person or third person POV?

Definitely first person. Sometimes when reading books with third person POVs, I get confused between everyone, especially if there is a huge roster of characters! For example, if the author says “she,” I’m like, who are they talking about? Anna or Katie? (Just throwing in names๐Ÿ˜‰) Also, when I read from a first person perspective, I feel like I’m putting myself into their shoes more, and better able to understand how the character is feeling.

6. Reading at night or in the morning?

I would rather read at night, using a good book to help me become tired and fall asleep! I usually find that in the mornings, I have a shorter attention span, so it’s a bit harder for me to focus on a book.

7. Libraries or bookstores?

Hard question, I actually have no idea, since there are so many pros and cons to both! Check out my little “debate” about this topic here!

8. Books that make you laugh or cry?

Both are good sometimes, but as I’d rather be in a good mood, laugh! To be honest, though, most books don’t make me do either!

9. Black or white book covers?

I like white, since it just makes books seem lighter and much more enjoyable! Plus, white lets book covers be way more colourful and spontaneous! I am less likely to pick up a black book (yes, I know the saying, don’t judge a book by its cover) because they usually just seem like darker and more fantasy-like reads (fantasy isn’t my favourite genre). Here is an example of what I mean by a ‘colourful’ book cover- this one is amazing, and now I really want to read this book! Isn’t it absolutelyย stunning?

10. Character driven or plot driven?

Since I love a good romance book, I’d say character driven! In my opinion, it’s what the characters do and say that help make stories shine the most!

So that’s it, folks! I won’t be tagging anyone today, as I only tag people if I am tagged myself! But do go ahead and do it if you want to!

What would your choices be for these questions? Would you (dis)agree with my answers? Let me know in the comments below!
